about

Preachy and personal brutalist body music.

To paraphrase horror author Garth Merenghi: subtext is for cowards.
What you get here is seven tracks (well, six and an intro) of industrial beats, in-your-face basslines, gritty distortion and on-point samples, all served with a high-strength cocktail of anger and anxiety brought on by the 2020s

Some notes on this release:
- The F Word uses an extract from a speech by Mhairi Black MP in the House of Commons. They were words that needed to be said, but I doubt enough people listened.
-The Descent is about the same topic as Mhairi Black's speech, it's a worry these days.
-Stress Fracture and Impostor Syndrome are just how things are.
-Iconoclasm is concerned with the way fans instantly defend abusers and bigots if they're famous to any degree. You can support their work if you want, I don't care. I'm not going to tell you what to like. But accept who they are, what they did, what they've said. More than that, it's about the veil of silence, the PR scrubbed socials. It's all hidden so fast and spoken of in whispers so that you don't even have the option of making up your own mind.
-If you're not familiar with what the title of R U a Cyberpunk? is a reference to, just search for it online, trust me :-)
-European Dream was previously released with a slightly different mix and minor differences on the Crunch Pod compilation In The Throes of Democracy: Benefit compilation for Ukraine (CRUNCH 226). It's about Brexit, the invasion of Ukraine, and what Europe once seemed like to me.

Thanks as always to the Telekon community for their support, inspiration and motivation.
